Located in the heart of the Oakhurst neighborhood in Decatur, GA, this 2025 project began as a planned gut remodel but evolved into a full new build after structural limitations surfaced. The challenge: create a home that felt rooted in the neighborhood’s historic charm while reflecting the bold, vibrant personalities of its owners. Every design decision was grounded in this balance—preserving a sense of character while pushing creative boundaries.
From the custom millwork details to the mix of saturated colors and unexpected material pairings, the home blends classic and contemporary in a way that feels both intentional and fresh. Key local vendors played a vital role in achieving this vision with contributions from European Kitchen & Bath, ClawHammer, and High Country Drapery & Design.
The final result is a deeply personal, functional, and joyful home that feels entirely at home in its eclectic, historic neighborhood.
